Professor Hossein Salimi had a visit to Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (FKNU) and negotiated with officials at FKNU"s Faculty of Oriental Studies on the mobility of academic staff to teach in Kazakhstan.

During his visit to Kazakhstan to participate in the 5th General Assembly of the Silk-Road Universities Network (SUN), Professor Hossein Salimi, Allameh Tabataba"i Univrsity (ATU) President, visited FKNU and negotiated with officials at FKNU"s Faculty of Oriental Studies on the mobility of academic staff from ATU to teach Persian Language and Iranian Studies in Kazakhstan.
In this session, Dr Paltore Yktiyar Moldatoreuly, Dean of FKNU"s Faculty of Oriental Studies, talked about the Faculty"s long experience in teaching Persian, and pointed to the linguistic and cultural affinities between the two countries as evidence for the possibility of developing the relations between the two institutes.

Dr Salimi then pointed to ATU"s interest in expanding Persian language and Iranian culture in neighbouring universities, and suggested the mobility of lecturers from ATU to teach Persian language and Iranian culture in FKNU.

Salimi then visited the Iranian Studies Centre in FKNU and met with Dr Eslam Chamani, distinguished Iranian scholar in Kazakhstan. In this session, Dr Chamani presented his books to Professor Salimi. ATU President then agreed to facilitate the publication of joint projects by researchers of the two universities by ATU Press.

As a consequence of this session, ATU is making measures with Iranian Cultural Attache in Kazakhstan to sent lecturers to teach in FKNU.
